Training

Our commitment to provide our customers with quality service and to ensure the safety of our operations has led us to make training a central point in the development strategy of OUEST ACRO.  We have established training programs adapted and tailored to the various technical profiles of the company:  technical trades training, rope access training and risk prevention.  In a constant effort to provide further safety, we have implemented a technique validation and authorization program for our employees and freelance personnel.

Rope Access work requires two very important skills:  a mastery of rope techniques as well as the trades in both the industrial and construction sectors in order to improve the technical skill level of the company.  OUEST ACRO uses in-house trainers (rope access practice techniques, risk prevention) as well as outside training agencies.  Within the training context there are general training sessions in addition to sessions specifically related to the operator.

OUEST ACRO recently established a Working Conditions Health and Safety Committee (CHSCT).  Its goal is to help promote the health of its employees and to improve working conditions.  Company policy has been defined by the members of the Committee and Management.

Training is central to the development of our employees.  In 2008, OUEST ACRO invested 7% of its gross payroll to training, despite a legal minimum of only 1,6%.  In total, 32% of this budget goes to security and safety training and the remaining 68% goes towards specific skill training (Rope Access, Management, etc...).  For 2009, a maximum number of people will be trained to be Work Rescuers and Lifeguards.  We will also begin the acquired experience validation process for Rope Access for those employees who have completed 4500 rope access work hours.
